This series of six (6) historic images portrays aspects of BC’s labour history.  Each card is 6” x 4” with an image on one side and description on the back.  They are printed in a unionized facility and meet Canada Post requirements for mailing.

Series One includes:

  • BC union organizer Chan Kwan (front) was one of thousands of unemployed men who “rode the rails” and participated in the On to Ottawa Trek in 1935.
  • BC Teachers’ Federation President Jinny Sims speaks to supporters during the 2005 teachers’ strike.
  • A crew from Tunnel and Rock Workers Union Local 168 in 1983 at the site of the Wolverine Tunnel in Northeast BC.
  • Historic logo of the Retail Clerks International Association, a forerunner to the United Food and Commercial Workers’ Union.
  • Striking longshoremen and supporters march to Ballantyne Pier, June 18, 1935.
  • Launch of 1975 industry-wide strike by United Fishermen and Allied Workers Union.
